Emmanuel Lutheran Church has been serving the California community since 1945, and is one of the largest Lutheran churches in the Southwest California Synod of the ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America).
Over the years, our youth program has grown. We currently have three different youth groups; 4th - 6th grade, Junior High and Senior High. We offer confirmation class, Sunday School and Bible Study. We keep busy all year round with all kind of events. We participate in Gatherings and leadership events with youth from other churches. We do a Mission to Mexico trip every year, and in July 2006 our High School group is going to San Antonio, TX, for the National Gathering! Locally, we do service projects, helping hungry and needy people and the environment. We go camping and hiking, and our youth are very involved with the music ministries as Emmanuel. We also just have fun times hanging out in our newly decorated youth room or going to a movie or a play. A really big event that we do at our church is the 30-Hour Famine, coming up March 4-5, 2006.
