Lunch Program
A wholesome lunch is available daily at a minimal cost. The office distributes menus monthly. Students in Grades K-8 may bring a sack lunch.
Uniform Policy
Dress code is expected of all Laurel Hall students (unless otherwise specified) when attending class. Parents may find information listing the variety of uniform components, location of retailer, and costs in the Parent-Student Handbook.
Enrollment Policy
Laurel Hall welcomes children of all races and nationalities. All students must re-enroll each year. Health forms must be on file before a student may attend class. Continuation at Laurel Hall is contingent upon academic success and good citizenship of the student and cooperation and courtesy between the family and school. Federal law authorizes this school to enroll non-immigrant alien students.
Laurel Hall accepts Kindergarten students who are 5 years old before October 15. Kindergarten entrance requirements are preschool recommendation and/or Gesell Kindergarten Readiness Assessment. New students entering first grade will take the Gesell School Readiness Assessment. New students in grades 2-8 take a standardized entrance test. Laurel Hall bases final acceptance on previous school records, entrance test results and school recommendations. We administer standardized achievement tests to measure individual progress year to year.
Testing and Guidance
Laurel Hall issues report cards four times a year. When necessary, parents may receive special reports. We schedule parent-teacher conferences during the first and third grading periods.
Faculty
The Laurel Hall faculty consists of credentialed educators, selected for competence in their subject field, dedication as Christians, and diversity of experience and background. In recruiting faculty members, we place emphasis upon a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and the capacity to work well with students and colleagues. We encourage faculty members to continue their education. Faculty committees help determine the school's curriculum, extracurricular programs and standards of evaluation.
Parent Organizations
Several organizations at Laurel Hall promote the welfare and interest of the school. Parents have an opportunity to meet other parents and develop a greater understanding of our goals. These organizations raise money to enhance many aspects of the school program.
