COMMUNITY SERVICE

Community Service

As a ministry of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Laurel Hall looks to educate the full child -- mind, body and spirit. Throughout our students' years at Laurel Hall, we work hard to provide a solid foundation so that all of our graduates move into the world a smarter, stronger and more caring citizen. We grow confident, happy, academically-minded students who begin their high school journey with a solid work-ethic and a strong moral compass.

Food Pantry Donation

Once a month there is a canned food drive collection, where students are encouraged to bring one can to help make a difference for someone in need. All cans are donated to the Lutheran Social Services. Over the years, Laurel Hall and the Emmanuel Lutheran Church have graciously donated thousands of cans to the help those in need.

Community Service

(Middle School)

Laurel Hall began its middle school community service requirement over a decade ago. Beginning in middle school, students are required to fulfill a certain number of hours per grade level. Community Hours are considered to be a part of the mandate that Jesus has given us to "feed my sheep." In addition, students are required to write an essay reflecting on their experience. We are working to foster an attitude of service that will remain with them long beyond their formative years at Laurel Hall.

Laurel Hall Worship Teams

Our students get the opportunity to serve God and their school by volunteering to lead worship at our Elementary and Middle School Chapels.

Each Worship Team is comprised of six members who are scheduled to lead worship four to six chapels throughout the year. They are responsible for leading the singing, litany prayers, and helping to facilitate worship.

Community Organization Support

Laurel Hall School financially supports various organizations, including the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and the Children’s Tumor Foundation. This support is directed by the JNHS who donates our weekly chapel offerings from each class. Laurel Hall also hosts philanthropic events such as: Spark of Love Toy Drive (pictured), a Christmas book drive for Children’s Hospital, a Halloween costume collection, a mitten tree, a stuffed animal collection for Operation Santa Claus and a monthly canned food drive for Lutheran Social Services.
